So, those who have been following my posts before this Europe adventure know that I get behind, try to play catch up. And then skip somedays to be current and never catch up those missed days. Well. I am skipping somedays so that I can write in the moment BUT I promise that I will go back and fill in those gaps. I only have a couple left and who knows. Maybe by the time I get Internet to post these blogs ill be all caught up. <br /><br />So, currently it is Sunday May 26 2013 1644(4:44pm)<br /><br />I am sitting in the train station in Budapest because I had to take a train from Rome to Vienna. Then Vienna to Budapest, and then Budapest to Cluj Romania. But of course my train from Rome to Vienna was late and as I pulled into the station. My next train was leaving. :/ so I took a letter train and that one was right on time...9 min after the train I wanted to be on for Romania was suppose to leave. I was hoping it got delayed or something and I could jump in last minute. I ran though the terminal to the screen, looked up, and my train was no longer on the board. Bye bye 2nd miss train for the day. So now I'm sitting on a bench waiting for the next train. 2 hours later and gets in around 130am. At least the hostel is close if my friends aren't able to pick me up. <br /><br />So, for those who don't know. I'm now traveling by myself. Autumn was ready to go home and I was a little bit to. Then suddenly she had her ticket to go home and I hadn't looked yet. Pretty much it was, ok. I'm leaving tomorrow morning....when are you leaving. So I looked at prices and decided its to much to change the ticket. So I'm now making my way to Turkey by way of Romania. I have always wanted to see Romania and having friends that I made at the Idaho Dance and Music Festival a couple years ago I am really happy I'm able to make it. <br /><br />So. Who knows what the next 2 weeks hold. I might make it to turkey in a week and decide to come home then or be able to spend 2 weeks in Romania and Turkey we shall see. <br /><br />So here is me now, tired slightly annoyed :) but still happy and in good cheer. <br /><br /> <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/68.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_68.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So my goal now is every night to write a post about what I did that day and then to do at least 5 min on a previous day that has not been published yet. I apologize for the confusion as well for any grammar or spelling mistakes made. I am doing this from my iphone(not my favorite) and I am not checking spelling or grammar. Just writing. <br /><br />Well. So long and who knows what the next post will be about. Hopefully Romania and not about being in a train station for a night. <br /><br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-2441557549840712552013-05-30T00:34:00.005-07:002013-05-30T00:34:48.363-07:00VeronaOh Verona. I want to say I came here with my parents before but honestly I have no memory what so ever of this place. Going to venice, Rome, and Florence I can connect dots to memories that I had but couldn't remember where they were from. But not Verona. I recognize some places but I think it's from movies or TV. But getting back to this trip. <br /><br />Autumn and I got to meet up with my sisters good friend Heather. I knew heather before but would consider us good friends just because of our age difference and me being Sarah's little brother. But she is a friend for sure. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/54.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_54.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />We met up that morning and went exploring. Heather is becoming an expert at all that Verona has to offer. We got to see beautiful fountains <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/55.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_55.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Eat amazing pizza<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/56.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_56.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And lasagna. I think it's the best lasagna I have ever had. There is a vegetable one <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/57.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_57.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> And a meat one<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/58.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_58.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Both were deliciousness with just enough cheese and sauce. The vegetable one beat the meat one. I almost went to get another one. But decided to wonder. <br /><br />We got to see churches with beauty all around <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/59.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_59.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/60.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_60.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/61.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_61.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Even go to see love locks locked on a shackle<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/62.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_62.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Not sure how that shows love. But to each their own :) <br /><br />It was so much fun to spend the day with Heather who was such a trooper. She was fighting a cold and was leaving the next day. But still was an amazing host. <br /><br />After we said goodbye to Heather, Autumn went to go see the Roman ruins that the city had to offer and for me and my bum foot ( I've learned that cobble stone and a lamo foot don't mix) I slowly wondered and sat in a park for a couple hours. The. Met autumn at Juliet's balcony. Now we did see it with Heather but we wanted to go back and spend some more time there. <br /><br />We went into the Juliet store next to it where you can write letters to Juliet and also buy something and get in embroidered. They gave Autumn her name and when I asked if I could see my name they said NO. Only for the lady. <br /><br />Oh well. I might of boughten something like a chef hat or apron. But NO, only for the lady. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/63.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_63.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Here is a statue of Juliet and I still don't understand the touching of statues. I guess I'm not that superstitious ( no idea how to spell it.) I mean I won't whistle on stage because oh the reasoning behind that. But touching every boob, penis, nose, or body part that a statue has to offer. No thank you. <br />I really liked the entry way into Juliet's courtyard. They had all the sides where you could write your name and your partners name/ or a note. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/64.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_64.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='123' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/65.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_65.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/66.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_66.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So after a quick tour of Juliet's shop we got gelato. Of course <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/67.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_67.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Oh how I don't miss ice cream. But thinking of how i will miss gelato. <br />At least Gelato Paradiseo(sp?) is good in Cali. <br /><br />So that night we got back and autumn had been talking all day about the movie Letters to Julia. So I bought it on iTunes and watched it. It's my new favorite chick flick. The acing isn't the best. But the story line is fun, cheesy, and very enjoyable. I am now hooked. It was also fun to watch the movie and say OH I have been there and there and there. <br /><br />Well. That's a quick explanation of Verona. I am guessing I have more pic on my camera. Because there aren't to many on my phone. <br /><br />Anyone beside my family even reading this?? Sometimes I wonder. <br /><br /><br />Next post. Lake Como, Star Wars, 007 and Bellagio <br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-34746769250488100062013-05-30T00:34:00.003-07:002013-05-30T00:34:25.829-07:00Venice... A time portal of its ownEvery time I go to Venice(3 times now) I get a feeling of walking through a time portal or something. I always thought it was my imagination as a kid. But going again at the young age of 24 :) I now know it not me making it up. It's truly the feeling that I get. From the buildings, stone walkways, gondolas(sp) food and the artistic craft everywhere you go. The funny thing is I remember it being smaller. It is a lot larger than I remember it and I'm sure, after I talk to my family that I missed a lot. <br /><br />Oh well, will have to go back someday. Maybe with my spouse, then the whole romantic theme won't go to waist :)<br /><br />when we got to venice, we decided to try walking to our hostel. Though I loved the walk, going up over about 10 bridges with my bag, autumns bag and my foot still sore, I think next time ill take the water taxi. Then go back and do the walk with no bags :) <br /> <br />Oh yeah. And 2 nights in a row, I can do it. But I don't love it. <br /><br />So once we got freshened up, we went wondering. This trip has just confirmed how much I love to just wonder. Choose a general direction, walk and then an hour or so later, the. Figure where you are and go a new direction or home. We found this amazing restaurant next to one of the canals and after that day, we couldn't find it again because we had wondered upon it. But it was so good. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/47.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_47.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />After that we wondered over to St Marks square and fed the birds<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/48.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_48.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Anyone else think about Mary Poppins?? No, just me. Oh well. :)<br /><br />So we stayed at a nice apartment converted into a hostel and I mainly wondered while autumn when into all the museums. I'm not a huge museum fan. I have to be in the right mood for what is being showed. But I just took the water taxi bus thing everywhere and explored all that I could. And then I found a mask that I fell in love with. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/49.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_49.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I left the store and figured I'd forget about it. But then I realized that I liked it way to much and went back the next day and got it. Though its not the most traditional mask out there. I like it :) and that's what matter. Right? <br /><br />Other than that, venice was beautiful but uneventful. I love venice because of that. You just fall in love with the streets, people, and food that nothing else matters. It's very relaxing while so many things are going on. <br /><br />. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/50.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_50.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/51.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_51.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Well, might not be the most exciting post, but I am trying to get caught up. about 2 weeks behind. So. There's venice. Next stop, Milan<br /><br />Oh oh oh. I almost forgot. We got macaroons. I forgot what they tasted like so we found a bright colored shop with every flavor you can think of( slightly exaggerating) and got a box of them... YUMMY. Just saying. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/52.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_52.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-78000127531366851232013-05-30T00:34:00.001-07:002013-05-30T00:34:02.189-07:00Plitvice lakes. Ok. This has been one of my favorite day trips in Croatia. The lakes themselves travels through a valley and is just...words also can't describe the beauty. Imagine Lord of the Rings and think of Rivendale ( where the elves live with all the waterfalls flowing around it.) this could of been the perfect location. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/34.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_34.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='129' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />With cascading waterfalls and caves to explore<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/35.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_35.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/36.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_36.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />It has fun for everyone. You can hike the entire trail or on sections of it you can take a electric boat across a large section and then they also have a train/bus type thing that you can take along onesie of it. I wish I could say I hiked the entire thing. But with my foot acting up, I was not going to push it. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/37.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_37.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/38.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_38.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />With the rain that had been there days before, the river was high and even the local life was out of their homes to enjoy the sunshine that peaked through the clouds. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/39.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_39.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(Snake)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/40.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_40.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(Snake #2)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/41.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_41.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(Caterpillar) he was trying to go home with me. He would keep climbing up my boot and I'd keep putting him back down on some yummy leaves. And then he would come back to my boot. Silly caterpillar. <br /><br />All in all. It took us about 3 hours to go through the intermediate route but totally worth it. My goal is next time I go back. Not to have a hurt foot and hike the entire lake. Plus the woods they have on the end :) <br /><br />Well, more pictures are on Facebook and more will also come when I get back to the states. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/42.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_42.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So after we finished up with the lakes we caught the bus home and got back before the last train left for Venice. So we are deciding to go another night on the go. 2 nights in a row. Lets see how autumn and I hold up. <br /><br />Till next time in Venice. Ciao<br /><br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-72287138673117888632013-05-30T00:33:00.001-07:002013-05-30T00:33:43.419-07:00Milan as home base and day trips to Parma and moreSo after departing Venice :( I could just relax there for an entire week it feels like. We headed off to Milan. At the time I didn't care to much to explore Milan, but now I'm kind of kicking myself for not checking it out more. <br /><br />We left each morning early, hopped on a train and took full day trips all around. But only slept and ate in Milan. <br /><br />But, there were some awesome day trips to do while up in Northern Italy. Our first one was Parma<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/27.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_27.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And the picture kind of describes our day. It was raining all day. Not just a light drizzle. No, it was Lex go buy an umbrella cause its raining hard, kind of a day. But, non the less. Autumn and I found ways to enjoy ourselves on this grey rainy day. We went for a walk in the park. :) yep, don't you do that in rainy days? Well we saw a cool pond lake kind of a deal <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/28.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_28.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And an old building that is now the EU's food inspection office<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/29.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_29.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And then while in Parma, we had to get cheese. And since in Italy we had to get pizza. So we got yummy pizza. Not as good as what we had in Florence but pretty dang good. We ate it all :) <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/30.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_30.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/31.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_31.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />We also went into a really old theatre/opera house(?) that everything was made out of wood and the stage was slanted. Thanks to my drama teacher on high school I didn't even think twice as to why the floor was slanted :) also I remembered not to whistle while in stage. Thank you Mrs. Weidauer. <br /><br />So, one day I will go back to Parma because I feel with some more research and knowledge it will have a lot to offer. But as a quick day trip it was nice. Maybe the country side is better. Any suggestions??<br /><br />Well I'm going to leave you with a short one because Verona and Como are going to be good lengths. At least I think so. We will see how I'm feeling when I write them. <br /><br />Next stop <br />Verona<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/30/32.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/30/s_32.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-26394744652723025862013-05-18T07:52:00.001-07:002013-05-18T07:52:13.324-07:00Croatia...aka healing time for meHello. So Croatia wasn't the best time for me. Somehow I hurt my foot in Budapest by wearing flip-flops for like an hour or so. So, not wanting to cause more pain and to heal faster I mainly relaxed while in Croatia. We went to Split, Croatia and spent 2 nights there which exploring the city and the nearby island of Hvar. <br /><br />Split was a wonderful town. The entire town is built in a walled city it seems like and mostly everything is still used today. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/615.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_615.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />It has a lot to offer with arts, food, beaches, and a main harbor to the surrounding islands. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/616.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_616.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='83' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/617.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_617.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='78' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/618.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_618.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='83' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/619.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_619.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='82' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Autumn explored a lot of the museums while I hobbled around on my own just wondering and reading the literature of the history. Not much happened from what I found out but it was neat to walk through an old town that in most places is just for looking and seeing that it is still used today for shops, homes, restaurants, and more. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/624.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_624.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />One of the best parts was that a restaurant, right in the middle, played live music every night. It was a great gathering place for locals and tourists to come and relax and listen to music. <br /><br /><p align='center'><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/HsTvuxjgQ-M" width="400" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HsTvuxjgQ-M" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><!-- Fallback content --><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsTvuxjgQ-M"><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/HsTvuxjgQ-M/0.jpg" width="400" height="300" />YouTube Video</a></object></p>We then went to Hvar for a day trip and that was gorgeous. The boat ride out was like going to Catalina Island off the coast of California. When we got there we hiked up to the fortress on the mountain and... Wow. The view was perfect. <br /> <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/643.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_643.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/644.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_644.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/646.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_646.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='92' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Though that hike was totally worth it. My foot was not happy with me. So with that, I went and laid out on a dock for the rest of the day and sun tanned. :) and swam/floated in the ocean. Totally worth it. :)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/648.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_648.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='79' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />So after Split we went to Dubrovnik, Croatia and this place was breath taking. We stayed at a little old lady's house while we were there. Yep that's right. We got off the bus and there was a cute old lady with a sign saying rooms. After getting the price down half the amount and cheaper than any hostel we could find online we loaded up into her car and drove off to her house. <br /><br />I was nice, farther from town then she told us, no surprise there 😉, but wasn't to far. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/652.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_652.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/653.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_653.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I didn't get to many pictures because this was whenever foot was hurting the most. Honestly I spent pretty much a whole day in the room just babying my foot while Autumn explored. So maybe if I ever go back I can explore more of the city. <br /><br />But that trip came to an end and we went back to Split hoping to catch the last train out that night for Venice. Unfortunately due to the buses being on winter schedule they ran every other scheduled time. So we got to wait at the bus station for an hour or so and then get on the bus <br /><br />The bus ride had to go through Bosnia for a portion and the border checks took a long time and due to the later bus and long border checks we missed the night train by 10 min :( <br /><br />But at least I got some awesome sun set pics. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/654.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_654.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/657.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_657.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So back to the hostel where we had stayed the other nights and checked in for the night. The next day we made new friends :). I know surprise surprise. Me being social. Never :)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/658.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_658.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So we met Joanna from Poland and Steffan from France. Really fun individuals spent the day with them. Well autumn did, I explored a little then went back to the hostel because of my foot 😠.me and my foot were not on good terms. But still had fun finding a handful of random things <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/662.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_662.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/663.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_663.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/664.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_664.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(Not photoshopped.) <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/665.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_665.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Squid!!!!<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/668.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_668.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And exploding lighters. FYI, don't keep cheap lighters in your pocket in direct sun light. They explode and leave bruises. Luckily it didn't happen to me. Just Fillip. <br /><br />So that night we went to the train station early to get the night train and low and behold the train was cancelled due to a problem with the tracks. But they had busses yay...no. Riding a public bus all night is not that fun. But it got us to Zagreb. <br />Here are some more random pics. Remember, all my iPhone pics can be found on Facebook. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/669.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_669.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><p align='center'><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/z9nz9y43tsY" width="400" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/z9nz9y43tsY" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><!-- Fallback content --><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9nz9y43tsY"><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/z9nz9y43tsY/0.jpg" width="400" height="300" />YouTube Video</a></object></p><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/725.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_725.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='142' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br />Here is where I'm going to end this post. Plitvice lakes :)<br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-62369163954839325622013-05-18T07:16:00.001-07:002013-05-18T07:16:11.935-07:00BudapestAlrighty. So here is some Trivia that i didn't even know about myself. Where my Jewish ancestry came from. Hungary!!! So, it was really cool to go to a city that most likely, especially during world war 2, housed my ancestors. <br /><br />Well. It was cool for me. So, now about Budapest. Who knew that Budapest is actually 2 cities? I didn't till this trip. <br /><br />There is a Buda side<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/493.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_493.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/494.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_494.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And a Pest side<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/495.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_495.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='120' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />The river splits the two. It was interesting to look at the difference. Though both sides have there good and bad things. I feel the best way to describe the 2 is that Buda side seemed more royalty and government area while the Pest side was more everyday people, metropolitan busy city. <br /><br />So, I mainly explored the Pest side because here, somehow, I hurt my foot. Autumn and I got caught in a massive downpour. Like, it's been years since I've seen rain that hard and amount. So after we got home, we were drenched. So I wore my flip flops while my boots dried out. Bad idea I guess. Cause for a week afterwards my foot did not like me. I was worried I did something really bad. But it's all good now<br /><br />Ok. Getting off that tangent. So I explored the pest side because it was flat. Not as hilly as Buda. So over on the pesticide was one of my favorite sites in Hungary. It's the worlds 2nd largest Jewish synagogue, only out sized by the one in New York. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/497.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_497.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/498.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_498.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Here they have 2 synagogues on the same ground(one large and one small for winter), Holocaust museum, multiple Holocaust memorials, Jewish family history center, and a Jewish Cemetery. <br /> <br />The inside of the synagogue was gorgeous. It was so large and beautiful with gold trimmings everywhere, original chandeliers hanging in the side halls and a replica of the massive chandelier in the middle. Though it looked very fancy and posh posh. You could still feel the reverence that it held as a sacred/religious building. Here are some pictures. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/541.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_541.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/542.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_542.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/543.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_543.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/548.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_548.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/549.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_549.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And look at the name I sat behind. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/550.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_550.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I thought it was funny. Since most people pronounce my last name like this is spelt. <br /><br />I actually got to see it with all the lights on and everything because some important person (lots of security guards and an announcement of no taking pictures for the next 10 min) came in. It lights up very nicely. But as soon as he left. Half the lights went off. :/ of well. At least i got to see it lit up. <br /><br />So, I'm a little bummed that I didn't take the tour. But I overheard usually you don't burry your dead near a synagogue but during World War Two when all the Jews on Hungary were forced to live in Budapest, there was nowhere else to burry them. With starvation and inadequate homes during one of the worst winters there, they had to burry the dead somewhere. So they put them in their gardens. It's still unknow exactly how many and who is buried there but in the Jewish faith( not sure if the same in others) you do not disturb someone's final resting place. So this is only(according to the tour guide) that has a cemetery in their gardens. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/554.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_554.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So the two memorials( out of like7 or 8) was a wall of names with pebbles set all around on the ground, and in the cubbies under each name. Unfortunately I only have pictures on my digital camera. So no pic till June of that wall. Then my second favorite was a metal tree. And on each branch there were metal leaves with names written on some of them. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/595.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_595.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/596.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_596.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And other ones that were left blank for all the people whose names are unknown but died in any way during the holocaust.<br /><br />I have more pictures of the tree on my digital camera as well. So more pics come June-ish. <br /><br />So. Other than the synagogue we got to see beautiful catholic churches <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/598.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_598.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Churches that were carved in mountain sides and tunnels. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/601.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_601.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Cool bridges<br />(Picture is not mine)<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/602.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_602.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Happy food<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/603.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_603.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And a cool indoor market that looks like it could be really busy and cool, but I think we went on the wrong day or time. Half the shops were closed :(<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/605.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_605.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />But we got a Hungarian got dog<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/607.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_607.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Yes. It is massive. With lots of interesting toppings. It was yummy but way overpriced. Yay being tourists. :)<br /><br />So. That is my quick blog for Hungry. I wouldn't say I had an amazing time there and want to go back tomorrow. But I wouldn't mind going back in a couple years and exploring more of the country and not just Budapest. <br /><br />So there are a lot more pics that I'm going to upload on Facebook. So go there to check them. <br /><br />Next post: Croatia<br /><br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-31815368188127410872013-05-18T07:00:00.001-07:002013-05-18T07:00:11.190-07:00Catching up with Ice CavesSo. Correct me if in wrong, because I keep writing these when I am off line and can't see the posts that I have already made. I have covered the following countries and cities<br /><br />Czech Republic<br /> Praha (Prague)<br /> Kutna Hora<br />Austria<br /> Wien(Vienna)<br /> Salzburg<br />Germany<br /> Füssen(Disney castle)<br /> Munich<br />Slovenia<br /> Ljublijana <br /> Lake Bled<br /><br />That should be everything so far. Let me know if I forgot to write a post about somewhere. <br /><br />So. Moving on from Lake Bled. Where did we go?? Back to Salzburg!!! Because we wanted to sing on the mountain tops and in the Abby :) or maybe we just really wanted to go to the worlds largest ice caves. Now, be sure to read closely. No pictures were allowed to be taken inside. So I didn't. But somehow there were pictures on my phone when I left. Darn technology has a mind of its own. :) yay for the sneaky Cowan gene(sp?)<br /><br />So. We dropped our bags off at our hotel for the night in Salzburg and jumped back Ina train to go to Werfen. After we got off the train and getting slightly lost in the little downtown we found the bus to drive us way up the mountain. It was like a 15min drive....up hill. Yay for cars. That's all I have to say. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/475.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_475.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />So after the car ride up. We still had a 20 min hike<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/476.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_476.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/477.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_477.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />5min gondola ride<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/478.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_478.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/479.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_479.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br />Then another 20 min hike and there you are. At the mouth of the ice caves. Now for those who think the ice caves in Idaho are big. Nope. Not even close. These ones are HUGE and I didn't even get to see all of it. So. Here are the mysterious pictures that I have no idea how they got on my phone :)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/480.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_480.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />We got to use old school lanterns :) to light our way through the 0degree C. Email me and when I get home(mid June) ill figure a way to get you them. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/482.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_482.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/483.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_483.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/484.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_484.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/485.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_485.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/486.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_486.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/487.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_487.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Though I still wanted to go further into the cave and experience more and more of the extensions that can't be discovered by tourist :( we were still very happy to have some sun. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/488.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_488.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />So after this fun adventure. We went back to Salzburg by train and then the next day was fun for me. It was a Saturday and Salzburg had a marathon or some running event. I got there while everyone was cleaning up. But the farmers market style market was still thriving. So while autumn explored Mozart's home<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/490.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_490.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />I went and explored the farmers market. We met Her at the train station in Salzburg and went to Budapest together. <br /><br />So next post is going to be about Budapest, Hungary. <br /><br /><br /> - Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-75950230346693737072013-05-10T09:14:00.001-07:002013-05-10T09:14:21.400-07:00S-LOVE-niaI know I'm behind in my posts. Sorry. So there are going to be a couple back to back so I can get caught up. <br /><br />The last post I made was about Slovenia and Disney. <br /><br />Let me make one just about Slovenia. <br /><br />Slovenia is my new Second favorite country, right after India. The people were amazing, food was yummy, and country is beautiful and there is so much to explore in this tiny country. With the ocean on one side and mountains on another you can have the best of all worlds. Like California. Just smaller the size. <br /><br />My goal is to come back here and explore Slovenia more. Like go through some more caves, climb some mountains, raft some rivers, and what ever else I can find. A local there even said I should go paint balling. I might pass that one. But everything else is totally free game. <br /><br />Autumn and I went to Libjiani first, the capital of Slovenia and spent about 3 nights there. We stayed at a great hostel called Tresor. It was located right in the heart of downtown but was set up so you didn't get all the noise from the street. It looked like it us to be an old bank or something. <br /><br />Though Slovenia is an old city, there seems to be a lot of renovation to make the old things look modern style. So not my complete favorite. But still very interesting to look at and leant about it. They have had a interesting history. But if you want a history lesson. Go online. Trust me. You don't want a history lesson from me. :) <br /><br />So, in Eastern Europe they celebrate May Day. The kick off is on Aril 30 they have a massive bond fire on the hill near a old church(no significance. Just a good location) so of course, we went to it with our new friends we made on the Hostel. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/954.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_954.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/955.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_955.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/956.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_956.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />The entire city was out there. With there kids and everything. Free to all. Just BYOB or buy it there. The food was really good too. We had some sausages and lamb. :) yummy!!!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/957.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_957.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/958.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_958.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And there was live music going on. I got to dance with an Australian girl that went up with us. I can't remember her name. But she was super nice. We saw the families and the kids start going home around 1130 midnight and figured II is prob smart to go home too. Wasn't sure what else was going to go on and Autumn and I had an early morning the next day. <br /><br />So backing it up a little bit. I just realized we went to the Pestojna caves earlier that day. Before the bond fire. So the Pestojna caves were the ones I went off about the Disney post. Incase you don't remember. Here are some more pictures. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/959.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_959.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/960.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_960.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> And more. Look on Facebook or the previous post for more. <br /><br />(Castle) <br /><br />So the next day. We said good bye to Ljublijana and hello to Lake Bled. Now this was beautiful all around. Here's a photo to start it. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/961.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_961.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(I did not take this pic. I took a pic of another pic.)<br />So Lake Bled is a small lake up in the mountains that surrounds this tiny island. And on the island is a little church with a wishing bell. Now the question is at hand. Did I ring the bell? <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/962.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_962.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Like that's even a real question. Of course I did. But no asking what I wished for. Because then it won't come true. ;) But the real trick is getting to the island. No motor boats are aloud on it. So do we row ourselves out or pay to take a man powered boat out??<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/963.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_963.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />We decided to row ourselves out on these swan row boats. Yep... It was awesome. I do t have any pics of my rowing though. They might be on Autumns camera. But funny story is that on the way back, Autumn asked if she could row around the island once. I said sure. So around the island we went. She was having so much fun that she wanted go row back to shore. Again I said yes and so off we went. The big guy sitting there while the cute small girl rows him to shore. Soapy people were taking pics. It was awesome :) all I could do was put my hands up like, what are you going to do, when she wants to row, let her row. :) <br /><br /><p align='center'><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/zbyW84R4-aU" width="400" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zbyW84R4-aU" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><!-- Fallback content --><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbyW84R4-aU"><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/zbyW84R4-aU/0.jpg" width="400" height="300" />YouTube Video</a></object></p>So. To whoever is still reading. Take a break and then come back and read the following. We are almost done. <br /><br />So that was one afternoon in Lake Bled. That night we stayed in a hostel called Bled Hostel and it was ok. The beds weren't bad but it was connected to a bar and the locals...yep they had fun at night. One night I was standing outside the bar for Internet, talking to my family on Skype and this guy was sitting in his seat for probably 15 min swaying back and forth. Then ever so slowly he just swayed to far one way and blop, on the ground he was. I had to go over and pick him up off the ground and point him to his room ( he was staying across the hall from us) though the rooms were a little bit quieter then bar. You would get an occasional shout or group cheer or group singing to some American song that doesn't sound like English cause everyone is drunk. :). Haha. It was entertaining. <br /><br />So that was the hostel. But the next day was a wonderful day. We went up to the church and castle on the hill. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/992.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_992.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />(Not a good pic at all)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/993.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_993.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />But we got amazing views. And the paths were fun<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/994.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_994.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And rainy :) <br /><br />So we didn't go into the castle because the guy who word mornings at the hostel was going to give us a rise to this trail we wanted to go on. So we went down the hill and got back super early. Oops. So we got online and found out that our friends, Kasey and Kendal from Ljublijana were staying right next door to us here in Bled. So the 4 of us went on a hike through the valley. They have a specific name. Ill see if I can find it later. Seriously it was a wooden walkway attached to the side of a rock wall. So legit. The views were breathtaking :)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/995.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_995.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/996.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_996.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/997.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_997.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/998.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_998.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/10/999.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/10/s_999.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And the bugs and creatures were awesome. I know what a lot of you are thinking. What is Lex talking about. Well I just went to one of the most geographical( hopefully right word) place I have ever been( at least that I can remember) I went to the Pestojna Caves in Slovenia. Here are some pictures because again I can't not explain in my words the wonders I saw. And these pics do not do it justice. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/02/813.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/02/s_813.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/02/814.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/02/s_814.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/02/815.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/02/s_815.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And more will be on Facebook. So going back to my title. I am sorry to Disney because all these years whenever I went to Disney land and on rides that would have stalagmites and rock formations I always though they look so fake. Thought that the real thing would look totally different. Not so. Disney has done an amazing job at making everything look pretty identical to the real thing. So Disney, good job and shame on the others that think Disney looks fake. <br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-38489556463825955072013-04-28T14:38:00.001-07:002013-04-28T14:38:51.568-07:00So. Looking over everything I realized I left out an amazing yet kind of creepy place. Kutna Hora<br />Let me set the stage. Your in a cute little town. So little the train station is barely there. It looks more like a shed on the side of the tracks. You go for a cute walk down a tiny stream along the side of the town<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1986.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1986.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And then come across a small church building in the middle of a cemetery. Not a creepy cemetery. But a cute one cause all the graves have gardens on top of them pretty much. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1987.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1987.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='63' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And then you go into the basement of the church. And the first thing you see is<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1988.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1988.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Yes. Those are bones. Real bones. Not fake at all. What happens was that there were many deaths as well as the cemetery size was reduced that all the bodies that were dug up were then placed in the basement of this church. Not to creepy of an idea. Then someone decided to decorate with them. Not to worship or anything. Just to do something with them. So here are more pics from the "Bone Church"<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1989.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1989.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='61' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1990.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1990.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='63' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1991.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1991.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1992.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1992.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1993.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1993.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1994.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1994.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Of course the artist signed his name in bones. :) yeah. Ok. Here is my second attempt at this post. If there is already one posted then I'm sorry. But I couldn't find the Firestone I wrote anywhere. So I figured I would do a second one. <br /><br />Fairy tale land aka Füssen, Germany is a fairy tale because this is where most our fairy tales came from. At least visually. Walt Disney was inspired by Neuschwanstein castle for all the Disney Castles especially sleeping beauty's castle. This castle was built with romance in mind. It was against the rules to take pictures I side buy I will now let the exterior pictures speak for themselves. <br /><br /><br /><p align='center'><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/iJx7qx3f5zE" width="400" height="300"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iJx7qx3f5zE" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><!-- Fallback content --><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJx7qx3f5zE"><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/iJx7qx3f5zE/0.jpg" width="400" height="300" />YouTube Video</a></object></p><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1948.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1948.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1949.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1949.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1950.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1950.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='63' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1951.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1951.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='61' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1952.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1952.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1953.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1953.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1954.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1954.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Right, my words can't explain the beauty we saw. I wish I could have taken pictures inside. But it is all still the original work. Nothin has been redone and so to keep it as pristine they say no cameras so they don't have to worry about the flashes. Makes sense to me other than the fact that I know I wouldn't use flash. Oh well. <br /><br />After Autumn and I took this amazing tour that walks you through different operas that Wagner wrote (because King Ludwig II was a huge fan of Wagner's work) we decided to take a hike up the mountain behind the castle. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1959.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1959.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1965.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1965.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1969.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1969.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1974.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1974.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Totally worth it. Would of been perfect. :) but I am still very happy with this iPhone pic. <br /><br />We stayed at a very cute hostel called LA House Hostel and it literally was a house with all the rooms converted to bed rooms or dorm rooms. I wish I got a pic. But if you come through here it is worth it. And the price isn't that bad. <br /><br />Next stop is Slovenia. With that comes castles in the middle of a melted glacier and who knows what adventures. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1979.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1979.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted on the go. <br /><p class='blogpress_location'>Location:<a href='http://maps.google.com/maps?q=F%C3%BCssen,%20Germany&z=10'>Füssen, Germany</a></p>Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-4939682648633702802013-04-28T14:35:00.001-07:002013-04-28T14:35:39.643-07:00Kutna HoraSo. Looking over everything I realized I left out an amazing yet kind of creepy place. Kutna Hora<br />Let me set the stage. Your in a cute little town. So little the train station is barely there. It looks more like a shed on the side of the tracks. You go for a cute walk down a tiny stream along the side of the town<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1938.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1938.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And then come across a small church building in the middle of a cemetery. Not a creepy cemetery. But a cute one cause all the graves have gardens on top of them pretty much. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1939.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1939.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='63' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />And then you go into the basement of the church. And the first thing you see is<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/28/1940.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/28/s_1940.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Yes. So to get you all coughs up on out travels we are currently in Graz by way of Vienna, which here is spelt Wien out here. <br />The trip coming over was interesting but we will get to that in a moment or maybe next post. <br />The last day in Prague was enjoyable. I really liked Praha. It felt real with all the old buildings and how everyone interacted with each other. weather it was really real or a good act, i liked the positive flow of everything.<br />We went on an "underground tour" that was slightly disappointing because I was thinking it would be cool underground roads, buildings, and more but we went into 4 different cellars that use to be the first floor but then praha built the city level up so it wouldnt flood as much. The cellars were preserved and wired with bright lights and being hosts of art shows... so wasnt super stoked. But still nice to know the history. <br />We went to Prague Castle and saw the monastery next to it, the church that is era confused, and all the grounds of the castle. It was a truly amazing place with all the changes that went on there. I say era confused because he church building has about 4 or 5 different eras on it that you can plainly see without looking to hard. from different designs, carvings of men in suits and not classic clothing to differnt stone in general. Even the tour guide had no idea why it was built with the completely different stones, but it was.<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/24/1727.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/24/s_1727.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/24/1728.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/24/s_1728.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Still beautiful. even with the era confusion. While in Praha, we went to Kutna Hora. I don't know if i have already talked about it in a previous post, so ill check once i have internet again and is not then ill do a special post to it. <br />After Praha we went to Wien and saw the spanish Riding School. Pretty much a horse ballet. It was AMAZING what the trainers and horses can do....well, just the horses. the trainers just guided and looked pretty. That night (sunday night) we went and saw a show. We wanted to see an opera but standing for 5 hours and paying for it didn't sound to interesting, but we saw a show that combined sections of opera, ballet, classical music, and Vianesse waltz. it was good. I wouldn't go again, but it was a nice cheap tourist thing to do so i could experience everything. Next time though i am going to save and get a seat and go see a full opera in a good seat. <br />Vienna went by fast, cause we felt like we saw everything we wanted to see on the first day and it was pricey so we headed out. But of course we couldn't head there or out with a little bit of fun drama. <br />On the way into Vienna we were on the train and the ticket guy asked for our tickets. we gave them to him and he said they were incomplete. There is a "optional" survey part that we took off to make the packet smaller. He said we had to have it and fill it out every train we went on in Austria. so i pulled mine out while autumn argued with him about it being optional. After a small argument (nothing big at all) Autumn finally went in search for her survey part. Of course it wasn't where it was suppose to be. The ticket guy said he would come back. so we went through everything....and no luck. couldn't find it. Luckily for us, the ticket guy forgot to come back and we were safe. later at the Euro-rail office, when we asked for a new one. they said its optional and the guy was just being mean. YAY<br />And then leaving Vienna we were hungry and so we saw a restaurant that had people in it and decided to eat there. A minute after ordering our drinks i actually look around and to my dismay, realized it was a TOURIST TRAP. and at that moment 3 large tour groups came in a took over..... lets just say it was not a good meal, with rude waiters and not the best food ever. <br />So moving on, after vienna we went to Graz Austria because Autumn has a friend that lives there. Kurt and Hanna let us crash on there blowup mattress in their cute little studio apartment. It was very well done and very sweet of them to allow us there for the night. They told us places we should go and see, Kurt introduced me to Kabobs which are not the things on a stick. thy are like Gyros but dare i say, better :O i know. I will just have to go down to Greece and see. I know, tuff life.<br />In Graz they have a very large (to my standards) University and it is picture perfect to what i think of a university. Cafes scattered around the outskirts of it. everyone on bikes, and of course pubs/bars scattered through out as well (sorry Idaho) it was a really fun place to be. Thanks to Kurt and Hanna (sp) for being great hosts. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/24/1729.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/24/s_1729.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/24/1730.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/24/s_1730.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Now we are on a train heading to Salzburg...Yes Sound of Music. Yippee... my goal is to keep up to date on the blogs. let see how i do<br /><br />Also. So random statue in Prague. They have all these statues that you touch for good luck. Guess where you had to touch the following pic for good luck. And to answer people's question. No. I didn't do it. I have enough good luck. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/24/1731.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/24/s_1731.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />If you can't get it. Look for gold. <br /><br />Please comment or ask questions or leave ideas on anything you would suggest we do. i know mentally it helps me post more regularly when i know people are reading.<br />- Posted on the go. <br />Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-77807219660285310972013-04-19T11:49:00.001-07:002013-04-19T11:49:03.520-07:00Prague-1Hi everyone. <br />So we have been in Prague for 2 days now and it is beautiful. The first full day we took a free walking your around the old part of Prague and then explored the red of Prague ourselves. We got to see birds eye view of Prague from atop the Astronomical clock<br />Tower in old town square. We then explored the Senate building and saw a white peacock. I never knew there were white ones. It was beautiful. We got to eat delicious pastries like croissants and chocolate, then we had a Czech churro (can't remember the real name) it is cooked on a large metal pole and then when still hot and fresh slid off the pole and covered with cinnamon. SO SO SO good. Look out churros. <br />You have competition. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/19/1321.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/19/s_1321.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I forgot to introduce my tavel buddy this trip. For those who don't know, this is Autumn Powell. She is one of my best friends from childhood and we get to travel through eastern Europe together. <br /><br />So something I get to cross off my bucket list is staying in a hostel. We are in SG1 Hostel and it is awesome. First night was perfect, then a large group came the second night and went partying all night till like 3 in the morning. They tried to be quiet when they came back but didn't succeed. Oh well. Autumn and I woke up at 6 to catch the train. :) is it bad I'm a little happy my water bottle fell this morning. Not to loud of a noise but something. <br /><br />Myth story of the day:<br />We got to see the Jewish quarter and learn about Gollum. Gollum(not the one from lord of the rings) was a statue that was brought to life by a Rabi to protect the Jewish people from hate crimes. One day the Rabi forgot to get Gollum for sabbath service and Gollum got mad a destroyed buildings. The Rabi went out and took Gollum to a safe place and put him back to sleep. But legend has it that Gollum can come back to life if anyone hurts and is unjust to a Jewish Person. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/19/1322.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/19/s_1322.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />That's all I have for now. Today we are going to see the Bone Church in Kutna Hora and then Prague castle. Ill have more to tell you tonight or tomorrow. <br />Myth story for my next post will be the mummified hand in the church ceiling. Stay tuned ;) <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/19/1323.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/19/s_1323.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- Posted on the go. <br /><p class='blogpress_location'>Location:<a href='http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Tr%C5%BEi%C5%A1t%C4%9B,Prague,Czech%20Republic%4050.087141%2C14.403447&z=10'>Tržiště,Prague,Czech Republic</a></p>Lex Cowanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06472608046331757635noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2886155918350133718.post-45570593325473567072013-04-16T07:09:00.001-07:002013-04-16T07:09:42.271-07:00The beginning of a College Graduate<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
